Connect GitHub to Dailybot
Connect GitHub so Dailybot automations and check-in workflows can use repository activity (for example pull requests and releases) in triggers and actions.
Before you start
- You need Org Admin access in Dailybot.
- You need permission to install or approve the Dailybot GitHub app (or OAuth) on the repositories you want.
- Decide which org or user account owns the repos you will link.
Steps
- In Dailybot, open Integrations and select GitHub (or add a GitHub action inside an automation and choose Connect).
- Sign in to GitHub when redirected and approve the requested permissions.
- Select the GitHub organization or account and the repositories Dailybot may access.
- Finish the install and return to Dailybot.
- Confirm the integration shows as connected on the Integrations page.
- If you use automations, edit a workflow and pick GitHub-backed triggers or actions; save and Test once.
Verify it works
- Trigger a test automation that depends on GitHub (for example a manual run or a labeled event you control).
- Check the automation run log for success. Auth errors usually mean the app was removed from GitHub or repo access was narrowed.
Common issues
- Missing repositories — Re-open the GitHub install settings and grant access to additional repos.
- Org SSO — Some GitHub organizations require SSO authorization for third-party apps; complete SSO approval on GitHub’s side.
- Wrong GitHub org — Disconnect and reconnect, picking the correct organization during install.
