Dailybot says there is no active check-in for me yet

Dailybot says there is no active check-in for me yet

You try to fill out a standup or pulse, and Dailybot replies that there is no active check-in for today or nowhere to record the update — then later the same check-in opens and works. That often means your personal work window has not started yet, not that the check-in is deleted.

Quick check

  • Your local time vs org time — Compare your profile timezone (Dailybot Settings > Profile) with the check-in schedule timezone.
  • Work start time — If the check-in adapts to each user’s work start, you cannot submit until your configured start time arrives.
  • Already submitted today — Some flows hide the form after one response until the next cycle.
  • Time off active — Time off or out-of-office ranges skip participation for those dates.
  • Wrong chat account — Duplicate Slack/Teams identities can leave one account off the participant list.

Common causes and fixes

Org schedule vs personal timezone (CEST vs PST pattern)

The organization may run on US Pacific time while you work in Central European time. The check-in can be “Tuesday” in org time while your window opens Tuesday morning your time — which is still Monday evening in California. Early attempts look like “nothing is active.” Wait until your work-start window opens, or ask an admin whether the check-in should use a fixed send time for everyone.

Set your personal timezone explicitly; do not rely on the org default if you work remotely from another region. See Personal timezone settings and Reminder at wrong time.

Work-start adaptation not met yet

Templates that follow each participant’s work start only open the form after that time on workdays. If your start is 09:00 local, a 07:30 attempt is expected to fail. Retry after start time or adjust work-start settings with your admin.

Response already recorded for this period

You may have answered in DM earlier or through the web. The bot blocks duplicate submissions until the next period. Check Check-ins > activity for today before assuming a bug.

Time off or weekend rules

Time off marks you away. Weekend-skipping check-ins show no active round on Saturday/Sunday. Confirm dates under time off and the check-in work-day calendar.
