Creating a table
Start from scratch or a template
- Sign in at app.dailybot.com and open Tables (or the feature name your workspace shows).
- Click Create table (or New).
- Choose Blank table or pick a template (poll, poker, sign-up, etc.).
- Enter a title participants will recognize.
- Add columns with the column type each needs: short text, long text, number, single choice, multi-choice, date, person, and similar.
- For choice columns, enter options one per line or as the UI requests.
- Under Participants, select users, teams, or channels that should receive the table.
- Choose delivery: DM from Dailybot, link-only, or scheduled send if available.
- Set expiration and response limits if you need a cutoff (see Table expiration and response limits).
- Save and send (or share the link) to start collecting answers.
Column types at a glance
| Type | Best for |
|---|---|
| Text (short/long) | Open answers, comments, names. |
| Number | Estimates, counts, ratings as digits. |
| Single / multi choice | Polls, categories, tags. |
| Date | Deadlines, availability. |
| Person | Assigning ownership inside the table. |
Participant selection and delivery
Restrict participants to people who should see the prompt. DM delivery works well for private votes; shared link works for wider opt-in if your security model allows it. Confirm Dailybot can message everyone you selected on your chat platform.
After the first send, you can usually add participants for late joiners; they get a fresh DM with the same table state. Removing someone stops new prompts but does not always delete prior submissions — check permissions before using tables for HR-sensitive data.
