Kudos images and GIFs

This article shows you how to attach images or GIFs to kudos, when to use the built-in library versus a custom upload, and how Google Chat rendering differs from other platforms.

Steps

  1. Start kudos the way you usually do for your platform (slash command, shortcut, or web flow).
  2. When the composer asks for media or shows an Add image / GIF control, open it before you submit.
  3. Pick Image library to choose approved stickers or GIFs your admin curated — fastest and most consistent for brand-safe teams.
  4. Or pick Upload and select a file from your device; stay within size limits shown in the UI to avoid failed posts.
  5. For animated GIFs, prefer files under your platform’s attachment limit; very large GIFs may strip animation or fail on mobile clients.
  6. In Slack, Discord, or Microsoft Teams, confirm the preview in the composer looks correct, then send.
  7. In Google Chat, note that some GIF or rich previews render as a link or static preview depending on Chat and Dailybot settings — if motion does not appear, the kudos text still posts; see unwanted images in Google Chat when behavior is wrong, not just simplified.
  8. Submit the kudos so Dailybot posts the message with the attachment to the chosen channel or destination.

What to expect after

Recipients see the same kudos text everywhere; image fidelity follows each chat client’s rules. Admins can restrict uploads while keeping the library enabled.
