Editing or deleting kudos

Editing or deleting kudos

This article explains who may change or remove a kudos after it is sent, how to do it from the web dashboard, and why chat threads usually cannot be edited in place.

Who can edit or delete

RoleEdit / delete
SenderWithin the time window your org configures (often short); fixes typos or wrong recipient
Org adminAnytime for moderation or policy compliance

After the sender window closes, only an admin can change or remove the record in Dailybot; the original chat message may still exist as a separate object.

Steps (web dashboard)

  1. Sign in to Dailybot in the browser.
  2. Open Kudos or the Home item that lists recent recognition.
  3. Find the kudos you sent (or, as admin, locate it via Org > Kudos / Moderation if available).
  4. Open the menu on the row and choose Edit; change text, category, or attachment metadata the UI allows, then Save.
  5. To remove it, choose Delete and confirm; Dailybot drops it from feeds and leaderboard counts according to your plan’s rules.
  6. If Edit is disabled, the time window expired — ask an org admin to adjust or delete, or see can’t edit kudos.

Chat limitations

Slack, Teams, Discord, and Google Chat messages are owned by the platform. Dailybot can update the dashboard record and sometimes sync a follow-up, but it generally does not rewrite the original chat post after send. Expect the canonical corrected text in the web app; chat may still show the first version unless someone edits manually in that client.

What to expect after

Dashboard and leaderboard reflect the latest text or removal. Chat may show an old message unless your workflow includes a manual cleanup step there.
