I can’t find my channel in Dailybot’s channel list

When you pick where Dailybot should post reports or reminders, the channel you want is missing from the picker. In almost every case, the bot is not in that channel yet, the channel is private, or the list has not refreshed.

Quick check

  • Invite the bot — Add Dailybot to the channel on your chat platform, then open the channel picker again in Dailybot.
  • Private channels — Confirm Dailybot was explicitly added to the private channel (public channels often work without an extra step).
  • Wait a few minutes — After adding the bot, allow a short sync delay before the channel appears.
  • Correct workspace or server — Make sure you connected the same Slack workspace, Discord server, Google Chat space, or Teams team you are browsing in chat.
  • Archived or deleted — Archived Slack channels and similar restricted destinations may not appear.

Common causes and fixes

Dailybot is not a member of the channel

Channel lists in Dailybot generally reflect places the bot can access. If Dailybot was never added to #project-updates or your Discord channel, it will not show up. In Slack, use /invite @Dailybot or add the app from the channel details. In Discord, ensure the bot role can see the channel. After the bot joins, reload Dailybot’s settings page and open the dropdown again.

The channel is private

Private Slack channels and restricted Discord channels only appear after the bot is invited by a member who can access them. If you are not in the private channel yourself, you may need someone who is to add Dailybot, or an admin to connect the destination from an account that has access.

Sync delay after changes

Renaming channels, converting public to private, or bulk-adding the bot can take a moment to propagate. Close the picker, wait one to three minutes, and retry. If the channel still never appears, disconnecting and reconnecting the platform integration (when your org allows it) forces a full refresh — use that only after trying the steps above.
