I'm not receiving my check-in reminder

I’m not receiving my check-in reminder

Quick check

  • Timezone — In Dailybot Settings > Profile (or personal preferences), confirm your timezone matches where you actually work. A mismatch can place reminders in the middle of the night or after you stopped watching chat.
  • Participant list — Open the check-in settings (or ask an admin) and verify your name or account is still listed under participants. Editors sometimes trim rosters during reorganizations.
  • DM permissions — On Slack, Discord, Google Chat, or Teams, confirm you have not blocked the Dailybot app or disabled DMs from apps. Slack channel restrictions and mute settings can hide prompts even when the schedule runs.
  • Workdays and holidays — If the check-in skips weekends or uses a holiday calendar, you will not get a reminder on skipped days. That can look like a failure on Monday after a long break when the next send is still hours away.

Common causes and fixes

Timezone mismatch between you and the schedule

The check-in has an org or template timezone, and you may have a personal override. When they disagree, your reminder can fire when you are offline or not at all if combined with quiet hours. Align personal timezone with your real location, then compare with the check-in’s configured timezone. See also My check-in reminder fires at the wrong time.

You are not in the participant list

Removal from a team, role change, or duplicate account can drop you from the check-in while you still see historical threads. An admin should re-add you or fix the account that is tied to your chat identity. If you use multiple emails, ensure the connected account matches the one on the roster.

Bot cannot DM you

Enterprise policies sometimes disable app DMs for certain users. In Slack, confirm Messages tab allows the app. In Teams, verify the bot is not blocked. Test by sending Dailybot a direct message with a simple command from your platform’s docs. If the bot never replies, fix connectivity before debugging schedules.

Time-off or snooze modes

Some teams enable out-of-office handling inside Dailybot or rely on integrations that pause reminders. If you turned on time-off in Dailybot or an HR tool, reminders pause until you return. Clear the time-off window or ask an admin to confirm no org-wide pause is active.

If none of this worked

Before contacting support, collect:

  • Check-in name and approximate schedule (time and timezone shown in settings)
  • Platform and workspace or team name
  • Screenshot of your timezone settings in Dailybot
  • Whether others on the same check-in received the reminder on the same day
  • Whether the bot responds to a manual DM or command

Then contact Dailybot support from the Help or Contact options in the product or on the website.
