Smart reminders and nudges

Smart reminders and nudges

Smart reminders extend standard check-in schedules with context-aware messages. Use them when you want fewer generic pings and more targeted nudges tied to missed submissions, stale blockers, or suggested follow-ups.

Types

Overdue check-in — If someone has not submitted before the collection deadline, Dailybot sends a reminder that names the check-in and time remaining. Smart variants may shorten copy or adjust send time based on past response patterns (when enabled).

Forgotten blocker follow-up — When AI or explicit fields flagged a blocker and no update appeared in the next run, a nudge asks the reporter (or owner) to close the loop or restate status.

Suggested action — After summaries identify an implied task (“need access to repo X”), a reminder can prompt the relevant person to confirm or delegate. This requires the feature to be on for your org and may need automation rules.

Configure reminder aggressiveness

  1. Open the Dailybot web app and sign in with an account that can edit check-ins (Org Admin, Team Manager, or check-in owner).
  2. Go to Check-ins and select the check-in to adjust.
  3. Open Reminders or Notifications (wording varies by surface).
  4. Enable Smart reminders or AI-assisted nudges if the toggle is present.
  5. Choose a profile: Light (fewer messages, only overdue and explicit blockers), Standard (overdue plus one follow-up tier), or Active (includes suggested-action pings where supported).
  6. Set quiet hours or timezone behavior if your org spans regions so nudges respect local working time.
  7. Save and ask one participant to test with a dry-run check-in or staging org before rolling out to a large team.

Aggressive profiles increase volume; pair them with clear team norms so people do not mute Dailybot entirely.
