I can't find the channel for my report destination

I can’t find the channel for my report destination

You are configuring where check-in summaries or standup reports should post, but the channel you want does not appear in the list. The causes mirror general channel mapping: the bot must be in the channel, the channel type must be supported, and the list may need time to refresh.

Quick check

  • Add Dailybot to the channel — Invite the bot on Slack, Discord, Google Chat, or Teams, then return to Dailybot and reopen the destination picker.
  • Private vs. public — Private channels only show after a member adds Dailybot.
  • Channel type — Some channel types (for example, certain shared or archived channels) may not be selectable.
  • Correct org connection — Verify you are editing the workflow for the workspace or server that actually contains the channel.
  • Sync wait — Wait a few minutes after inviting the bot before assuming the list is broken.

Common causes and fixes

Bot not in the destination channel

Report destinations require Dailybot to have access to post. If you never invited the app to #team-standup, it will not appear. Use your platform’s invite flow, then refresh Dailybot. For Slack private channels, someone already in the channel must run /invite @Dailybot.

Private channel visibility

If you are an admin but not a member of the private channel, you might not see it until you join or another admin configures the destination. Coordinate with a channel member to add Dailybot, or ask them to set the destination from their account.

Unsupported or archived channels

Archived Slack channels, deleted Discord channels, or restricted Google Chat spaces may be hidden from pickers. Unarchive or choose an active channel, then map the report again.

Same symptom as “channel not in list”

Check-in destinations use the same platform integration as other Dailybot features. If this article does not resolve the issue, follow the deeper steps in I can’t find my channel in Dailybot’s channel list.

If none of this worked

Send support:

  • Workflow or check-in name
  • Platform and exact channel name
  • Public or private channel
  • Confirmation that Dailybot is in the channel (screenshot)

We can verify API permissions and mapping on our side.
