Tables overview: polls, poker, and custom data
Tables in Dailybot are structured forms for collecting answers from a defined group. You define columns (question types), choose who participates, send the table through chat DMs or links, then read results in the web app.
What you use them for
| Kind | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Polls | One or few questions with fixed choices; quick team decisions. |
| Planning poker | Estimation rounds with hidden votes until reveal. |
| Custom data | Surveys, sign-ups, or lightweight spreadsheets your team fills in over time. |
How the lifecycle works
- Create a table from scratch or a template; set column types (text, number, choice, etc.).
- Distribute by selecting participants and sending via DM from Dailybot or sharing the participation flow your product exposes.
- Collect responses as each person submits; partial progress is visible to owners where permissions allow.
- View results in the table’s summary or export; planning poker adds reveal and comparison steps.
Tables complement check-ins: check-ins are recurring rituals; tables are ad hoc or session-based data collection. For setup detail, see Creating a table; for limits, see Table expiration and response limits.
