Setting time off to skip check-ins

Setting time off to skip check-ins

Time off tells Dailybot you are away so it does not expect check-in answers for those dates.

Set your time-off dates

  1. Sign in at app.dailybot.com.
  2. Open your profile or personal settings (sometimes under Account or My settings).
  3. Find Time off, Out of office, or Vacation.
  4. Choose a start and end date (inclusive of days you will skip).
  5. Save. Some workspaces sync holidays from a central calendar; if you see that, your admin may control org-wide blackouts separately.

Use timezone-aware dates if the form asks for them so partial days match where you actually work. Extend the range by one day if you return mid-week and still want the first day back excluded from reminders.

What happens during time off

Dailybot skips sending you that check-in (or marks you exempt) for days inside the range. You will not get nags for rounds that fall entirely within time off. If a round already started before you added time off, finish or ignore it per your team’s rules.

Partial overlap: a check-in that spans your return day may still ping you for the portion after time off ends; update dates early when plans change.

Reports for managers usually show who is on time off so they do not chase you for missing answers.

Manager view: who is on time off

  1. Open Check-ins as a manager.
  2. Use the team or participation view for the relevant check-in.
  3. Look for time off, OOO, or away indicators next to members.

That view helps explain gaps without assuming someone forgot. You can still @mention someone for emergencies; time off in Dailybot is informational for check-ins, not a full calendar replacement.
