Using check-in templates
Templates preload questions and structure so you can publish a check-in faster. After you apply a template, you can rename, reorder, add, or delete questions like any other check-in.
Apply a template from Create check-in or the template picker when editing questions in the web app.
Template reference
| Template name | Description | Included questions (typical) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily Standup | Classic async standup | What did you do yesterday? What will you do today? Any blockers? | Engineering and product teams doing daily sync |
| Weekly Retrospective | Short reflection cadence | What went well? What should improve? Action items? | Teams running lightweight weekly retros |
| Sprint Planning | Sprint-oriented prompts | Sprint goals, capacity, risks, dependencies | Scrum teams at sprint boundaries |
| Mood Survey | Pulse on morale | Mood scale, optional comment, anonymity-friendly options | Managers and HR doing team health checks |
| Custom | Empty starting point | None — you add every question | Unique workflows, compliance, or one-off polls |
Exact labels in the product may vary slightly; use the in-app descriptions when choosing.
Edge cases
Note: Blocker and scale questions in templates follow the same editing rules as manual questions. If you remove a blocker question, update your report destination expectations so stakeholders still know where to look for risks.
