I was charged an unexpected amount

I was charged an unexpected amount

Seeing a different total than you expected on your invoice or card statement is unsettling. In most cases the amount matches Dailybot’s per-seat billing rules, proration, or renewal timing — not a mistaken double charge.

Quick check

  • Active user count — Open billing settings and compare billable or active members to what you assumed. New teammates often increase the seat count automatically.
  • Auto-renewal — Confirm whether your plan is set to renew at the end of the cycle; renewals charge the then-current seat count and price.
  • Mid-cycle plan changes — Upgrades mid-period typically generate a prorated charge for the remainder of the cycle.
  • Taxes and currency — Verify whether tax or exchange rates apply to your region or card.
  • Invoice line items — Open the latest invoice PDF and read each line; proration appears as separate rows.

Common causes and fixes

New users were added to the organization

Dailybot bills based on usage-defined seats (see your plan details for how “active” is calculated). When people join or become active, they may be included on the next invoice or mid-cycle adjustment. If the charge jumped after onboarding, review active/inactive status for members and your plan’s rules. Removing or deactivating users according to your plan stops future charges for those seats.

Prorated upgrade or add-on

Moving from a lower tier to a higher one, or adding paid capabilities partway through a billing period, usually produces a one-time prorated amount. That charge covers the upgraded price from the change date through the end of the current term. Your next full-period invoice should reflect the new base rate unless you change plans again.

Annual renewal

Annual subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date. The renewal amount reflects the contract at renewal time — seat count, list price, and any discounts your account has. If your team grew during the year, the renewal can be higher than last year’s charge even without a list price change.

If none of this worked

Before contacting support, gather:

  • Invoice or receipt ID and date
  • Expected amount versus charged amount
  • Any plan or seat changes in the two weeks before the charge
  • Organization name and billing email

Contact Dailybot billing support with those details. We will reconcile the invoice against your account history and explain each line item.
