Setting up Dailybot on Discord

Setting up Dailybot on Discord

Add the Dailybot application to a Discord server so members can run commands and workflows the bot provides.

Before you begin

  • You need Manage Server (or equivalent administrator rights) on the Discord server where Dailybot will be added. Without that permission, Discord will not let you authorize the bot.

Steps

  1. Open dailybot.com in a browser while logged into the Discord account that admins the target server.
  2. Start the Discord connection flow (for example Add to Discord or the Discord option in Dailybot’s signup or integrations).
  3. When Discord’s OAuth screen opens, sign in if prompted and select the server where Dailybot should live.
  4. Review the permission checklist Discord shows for Dailybot (channels, messages, members as applicable).
  5. Click Authorize to grant the selected permissions.
  6. Complete any captcha or confirmation Discord requires.
  7. Return to Dailybot’s confirmation or dashboard if the flow sends you there.
  8. In Discord, open the server’s member list and confirm Dailybot appears as a member or bot.
  9. Open a channel where the bot is allowed and send a command or mention flow your org uses to confirm the bot responds.

What to expect after

Dailybot is on the server with the permissions you approved. You can adjust channel access and roles in Discord if you need to limit where the bot reads or posts. Full product setup may continue in the Dailybot web app. Re-run the add flow if you chose the wrong server — remove the bot from that server first if your process requires a clean reinstall.
