How to invite members from Google Chat
Add teammates from Google Chat so they join your Dailybot organization with the right access — without manual email-only onboarding when a Chat-backed invite is available.
Before you begin
- You need Organization admin or Team manager permissions.
- Dailybot must be connected to Google Chat for your Google Workspace, and you should be signed into the same Google account you use for that connection.
Steps
- Open the Dailybot web dashboard in your browser.
- Navigate to Organization and select Members.
- Click Invite.
- Select Google Chat as the invite source.
- When the people picker opens, choose users from your Google Workspace directory (or the scope your admin has allowed).
- Assign a role to each person before you send — admins can manage billing and org-wide settings; managers often handle teams and workflows; members participate in check-ins and commands.
- Send the invitations.
- If a user is missing from the list, verify they exist in the same Workspace, that Chat is enabled for them, and that join restrictions on your Dailybot org are not blocking external or non-matching accounts.
What to expect after
Invitees complete a short linking step so Dailybot recognizes their Google Chat identity. They may get a Chat message from the Dailybot app or a follow-up email to finish accepting. Once accepted, they can interact with Dailybot in Google Chat and appear in your member list.
