Requesting data deletion

Requesting data deletion

This article explains how to ask Dailybot to delete personal data tied to you or your organization, what GDPR-style rights apply, and what you should expect for timing and scope.

Before you begin

  • Members can usually request deletion of their own personal data or close their account.
  • Organization admins may need to act for org-wide data or to confirm no other admins object to workspace removal.
  • Have your account email, organization name, and recent invoice or org ID ready if support must verify ownership.

GDPR and similar rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, rectify, restrict processing, port, or erase personal data. Dailybot honors applicable requests where verified. Erasure is not always absolute — we may retain certain records where law, billing, or legitimate security requires it, explained at a high level in Data retention policies.

What gets deleted vs anonymized

SituationTypical outcome
You delete a check-in response or content you ownThat content is removed from active databases; backups expire on schedule.
You close your personal accountYour profile and chat linkage for that user are removed or anonymized; messages others saw may remain in their history depending on product behavior.
You delete the whole organizationWorkspace configuration and member access go away; billing records may remain for tax and audit.
Formal GDPR erasure requestVerified request triggers a documented review; some fields are deleted, others irreversibly anonymized.

Steps

  1. Decide whether you need personal deletion, org-wide deletion, or both.
  2. For self-service removal, open Profile or Account settings and use Close account or delete specific content where the product allows it.
  3. For org-wide removal, an Organization admin follows Deleting your organization after exporting anything legally required.
  4. For a regulated erasure request, email privacy or support through the channel listed in the Privacy Policy, subject line “Data deletion request,” and include your email, org, and jurisdiction.
  5. Complete any identity verification steps support sends (reply from the registered email or provide billing proof).
  6. Wait for acknowledgment — often within a few business days — and a target completion window (commonly up to 30 days for complex org data, depending on backlog and legal review).
  7. Confirm completion: try logging in, ask an admin to check the member list, and retain the support ticket ID for your records.
  8. If some data must remain (for example invoices), ask support for a written summary of exceptions citing retention grounds.

What to expect after

Active product use stops for deleted accounts, and personal identifiers drop from customer-facing views according to the outcome of your request. Remaining anonymized statistics do not identify you. Dispute resolution or regulatory appeal paths are described in the Privacy Policy if you disagree with the outcome.
